Steam's internal name is Community 80. There is no magic search. Open the posts you skipped.
Closer to the Truth is the Steam achievement whose description reads You’ve viewed most of the community. Global unlocks in late August 2026 sat near 12.4 percent. SteamScope’s internal name is Community 80. Chinese and Korean threads keep asking for a search list that pops it. There is not one. The badge tracks coverage of the members-only board, not a NIRA Database lemma and not a DODGE score.
This page is the reading file. Hidden Community is how you open the board. Search Keywords prints hostnames when you are done pretending. The Achievement Tracker is the checkbox sheet. The 100 Percent Checklist is the cleanup order. Here we explain why a 12 percent badge sits next to DODGE in the pain ranking, and what “most” actually asks you to do.
You play a NIRA researcher reopening a drowning of 227 Church members. The public cult site is propaganda. The members-only board is where jokes become people. If you speedrun the officer report and jump to niradatabase.com, you can finish Accuse or Connive with a thin community scrape. The game will let you. The badge will not.
What the percentage is telling you
Search Rookie sat around 81.9 percent of all players. Model NIRA Employee around 76.7 percent. Search Addict around 64.3 percent. Accuse around 52.0 percent and Connive around 44.8 percent. Music and memo sit in the mid-thirties. Then the floor drops. Closer to the Truth at 12.4 percent means most people who filed a report never finished the forum. Dodge 1000 at 5.3 percent and Dodge 2000 at 1.4 percent are a different skill. Do not confuse them.
“Most of the community” is not 100 percent of every nested comment in existence, and the game does not show a progress bar. Japanese and Korean writeups describe it as covering the members-only space until leftover event threads stop feeling like flavor. Open original posts. Open comments. Open the ridiculous sports-day and countdown threads you skipped because they looked like merch spam. Those threads still hide handles, baptismal names, and the two-surface confirms Key Figures wants.
If the badge will not move, you are skimming. You are not missing a secret URL on top of selcatnetenin.com. You are closing tabs.
What this badge is not
It is not Search Addict. A hundred queries can be leftover wiki titles after the story. You can farm Addict without reading. Closer to the Truth wants you to look at the board. Different muscles.
It is not Model NIRA Employee. You can identify five officers and still have skipped the east-branch logistics posts. Fill the organization chart and then go back to the forum. The chart is a roster. The badge is a reading assignment.
It is not the in-game encyclopedia. The wiki rabbit hole after the officer report is a second campaign. Reviews call it that. Closer to the Truth is still the members-only community, the layer Steam’s store copy named when it promised octopus masks and petty complaints. In-Game Wiki and Wiki Blanks are other walls.
It is not a hint that you picked the wrong ending. Accuse and Connive are report verbs. You can unlock Closer to the Truth on either path if the board was actually read. See Endings.
A practical scrape without dumping every URL
Stay on the hidden board until event nouns stop surprising you. Japanese scrape lists include baptismal name, missionary department, Grand Inversion, central hall, parade, sports day, countdown, welcome drink, accounting, bulletin board, assembly, Cure-All, Nine Faces, keychain, Tentacatch, Umumu Charm, Church-rule briefing, medical office, September Festival, east branch, Black Balm, sin-eater, Nine-Confession rite, additional treatment. You do not have to type every item if you already opened the threads that contain them. You do have to stop treating those threads as skippable flavor.
Use the memo. Screenshot chats that auto-advance. Known Issues covers skipped last lines. A comment you never saw cannot count as viewed.
The embedded video is a real investigation session on the cult scrape, not a trailer. Watch how long the player stays in the forum before the paperwork. Then match that patience.
If you already filed and the title card ate the board, you may not be able to finish reading. Players asked to keep the wiki after credits. Through Patch 1.2 that is not a named feature. Do the community coverage before you file. Save and Load explains how Load returns you before the ending branch, not necessarily into a full post-credits desktop.
How this sits next to 100 percent
Cleanup order on the checklist is: play the case with the notebook, fill the chart, file one ending, desk music and memo, then leftover community reading for this badge, then Search Addict, then the other ending, then DODGE. Do not open DODGE in the middle of a forum scrape. The skillset is the opposite of reading.
There is no codes page. There is no weekly community reset. The board is finite. That is why 12 percent is embarrassing and also solvable. Open the posts. Type what they already show. Pin what two surfaces agree on. Then file.
If a future patch adds a tracker UI, Steam news will say so. Until then, treat Closer to the Truth as homework the store already assigned: uncover a members-only community hidden inside a website of masks and petty complaints, and actually look at it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for investigators who just hit a dead search.
Is there a search term that unlocks Closer to the Truth?
No. It tracks how much of the members-only board you opened. Skimming officer IDs is not enough.
Does the in-game wiki count?
No. Steam's description is the community. The encyclopedia is a later layer with its own blanks.
Can I get it after I file Accuse or Connive?
Finish the board before the title card if you can. Post-credits browsing is not a named 1.2 feature. Load returns you before the ending branch.
