Achievement Hunting Order

Most players want all ten Steam achievements in one or two clean runs. The order matters because some badges are free if you do them in the right sequence and expensive if you do them last. This page is the playbook. The Achievement Tracker lists every badge with the wording Steam uses. The 100 Percent Checklist is the broader cleanup order. This file is the achievement-by-achievement plan, written against the global unlock snapshots SteamDB keeps showing.\n\nThe order below assumes one fresh playthrough on Patch 1.2 or later, with Patch 1.1 bundled. If you started a save on an older build, finish your first ending then update before farming the harder badges. If you are on Patch 1.0.2 or older, update first. The 1.0.2 mistranslation fix matters for Japanese and Korean role labels on the organization chart. The 1.1 terminology and tag revisions matter for the Search Notebook.\n\n## The full sequence\n\n1. Search Rookie (Search 10 times). Free. You will trip it inside the first hour by typing anything. Stop thinking about it.\n\n2. Write First, Think Later (Make good use of the memo feature). Free. The memo is the second tool you should open. Pin a name the moment you see one. Use the Search Notebook as a checklist.\n\n3. Government-Approved Medicine (Lose yourself in the music). Free. Open the music program on the desk and let a track play for the badge to register. The desk has an audio program. Open it.\n\n4. Closer to the Truth (You’ve viewed most of the community). The rare one. This is the badge players ask the forum about. The description on Steam’s stats page is the spine: you must read most of the members-only community. The community is the hidden board behind the public Church site. The Closer to the Truth page explains why 12 percent global unlocks is the wall.\n\n5. Model NIRA Employee (Identify everyone in the organization). Heavy. Fill the Organization chart completely. Every officer. Every role. The IDs and Roles page is the file that names which slot belongs to whom. The Marco versus Makor trap is a near-miss spelling lesson. Search both. Pin the one that returns a person.\n\n6. Search Addict (Search 100 times). Free with patience. After the case is closed, the wiki and the forum still hold unused lemmas. Type them all. The badge is not a skill check. It is a count.\n\n7. Accuse (hidden) or Connive (hidden). One of the two report filings. The badge names are hidden until you pop them. The descriptions on the public stats page read: Bury the truth and help Seo Hyunju (Connive) and The victims’ families send their thanks (Accuse). Pick one. The other is for your second run. See Endings for the file.\n\n8. The opposite of step 7. The other ending. If you filed Accuse in run one, load a save from before the filing, or start a new save, and file Connive. The badge text reads “Bury the truth and help Seo Hyunju.” The Seo Hyunju page is the case file for that verb.\n\n9. DODGE Maniac (Score over 1,000 points in DODGE). Open the DODGE minigame after the second ending. Practice runs first. Then push for the badge. Patch 1.2 raised the score multiplier so high scores come faster.\n\n10. DODGE Master (Score over 2,000 points in DODGE). The rarest badge. The How to Beat DODGE page is the file. Maniac at 1,000 is the checkpoint. Master at 2,000 is a clean run, not a recovery run.\n\nThat order works because steps 1, 2, 3, and 6 fall for free if you let the desk do its work. Steps 4 and 5 are the heaviest research moments. Steps 7 and 8 are the two filings that have to happen on the same save family. Steps 9 and 10 are the minigame that lives outside the case.\n\n## Why this order works\n\nDoing steps 1, 2, and 3 first means the desk tools are warmed up before the case starts to feel like work. The memo in step 2 carries the chart pins into step 5. The music in step 3 is a five-second reward that gives the desk a memory. The 10 searches in step 1 are free.\n\nDoing steps 4 and 5 next means you are reading the members-only board and filling the chart during the actual investigation, not after it. If you try to finish these after the title card, the desk may already be partly closed. Some threads titled Why is Closer to the Truth not unlocking are players who filed their ending first and tried to read the board after. The Closer to the Truth page explains why that order fails.\n\nDoing steps 7 and 8 last, on a clean save, means both endings can be popped without confusing which filing was which. The save-and-load system on Save and Load explains how to roll the file back to before the ending branch.\n\nDoing steps 9 and 10 last means the case is finished and you are no longer protecting chat logs from auto-advance. The minigame wants twitch mode. Reading mode is the wrong muscle.\n\n## What if I want only one run\n\nYou cannot get all ten in one run. Accuse and Connive are mutually exclusive on a single save. The cleanest single-run path is: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (one ending), 9, 10. That is nine. The other ending needs a second save. Use the load function to roll back before the filing branch and file the opposite. Save and Load covers the mechanics.\n\n## What if I want the order with the least grinding\n\nSteps 6 (Search Addict) is the closest thing to a grind. It is also free if you let the desk do its work after the story. The wiki and forum still have unused lemmas. Type them after the title card. Do not invent random strings. Use real terms from the case files.\n\n## What if I do not care about DODGE\n\nYou stop at eight. Accuse, Connive, the community reading badge, the chart badge, the search badges, the memo badge, and the music badge. The 100 Percent Checklist without DODGE is still eight of ten. The other two are the score-attack minigame that lives on the same desk as the case. Skip them and the case is still closed.\n\n## What if I only want Connive\n\nYou pick Connive in run one. The badge pops. You stop after eight. Accuse is the only badge you do not have. The other ending is for the file labeled “I want all ten.” Most players who picked Connive in run one say the verb felt right. The Seo Hyunju page is the case file that explains why the verb felt right.\n\n## How this page sits next to the Tracker\n The Achievement Tracker lists all ten with the wording Steam uses. This page gives the sequence. The two pages cross-link. A player who wants the names reads the tracker. A player who wants the order reads this page. The wiki treats them as a list-and-order pair.\n\nIf a future Steam news post adds badges or changes thresholds, Patch 1.2 and Launch Notes will say so. The order above is what works on the current build.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for investigators who just hit a dead search.

Can I get all ten achievements in one run?

No. Accuse and Connive are mutually exclusive on a single save. Use a second save or load a save from before the filing branch to file the other ending.

Why is Closer to the Truth so rare?

It tracks coverage of the members-only board, not a magic search. About 12 percent of players reach it. The dedicated page explains the order trap.

When should I do DODGE?

Last. After both endings. The minigame wants twitch mode, the case wants reading mode.

Does the order matter?

Yes. Doing the memo, music, and search badges early keeps the desk warmed up. Doing the chart and the community reading before the filing keeps the badges from being lost to a closed file.
