No Results Found Accuse vs Connive Comparison
What actually changes when you file one report versus the other. Full spoilers.
This page compares the two endings of No Results Found without recreating the full context already on the Endings page. If you have not finished the game, go there first. This page is a structural breakdown of what changes between Accuse and Connive, what the game signals before you file, and what each outcome means for the case you just built.
Both filings require a completed organization chart. Both trigger one of the two hidden achievements. Neither is the canonical good ending.
What the game asks before the report
When the report screen opens, the game has already given you everything you need. The organization chart should be full. The NIRA Database phase should be exhausted. The in-game wiki rabbit hole should have delivered the terminology for the fill-in-the-blank answers.
The game does not tell you which filing you are about to make. There is no screen that says “Choose Accuse or Connive.” The choice is embedded in how you answer the final report fields. Each field is a sentence. You fill in the blank. The wording of your fill determines which achievement unlocks.
This means the ending is not a branch you see coming. It is a result of the exact strings you type on the last screen. If your chart is complete and your terms are exact, the game respects your choice. If your chart has empty slots, the game still accepts a filing, but Model NIRA Employee will not have unlocked.
What changes in the fiction
Accuse names a specific person or persons as responsible. The report language used in the Accuse filing puts accountability on an individual. The families who demanded the reopening get a name they can direct anger at.
Connive does not name the same way. The report language in the Connive filing is more institutional. It documents the structure that allowed the 227 deaths to be misfiled without necessarily identifying a single responsible party. The families get a case file that is more about the Church as a system than a person as a culprit.
The difference is not moralism. The game does not grade filings as good or bad. The difference is what you, as the NIRA researcher, decide the case is about. Is it about a person, or is it about an institution?
What changes in the epilogue
The title card that plays after the report is the same in both filings. The joke lands the same way: the phrase “no results found” reflects on the original closed investigation, and on the player who just spent two hours proving the record wrong.
The desk remains accessible after the title card in both cases. DODGE, the music achievement, and the memo achievement are all still available for cleanup. The ten Steam achievements do not change between the two paths.
What players chose at launch
In the first days after the 14 August 2026 launch, Accuse sat slightly above Connive on the global unlock chart. More players filed a report that named a person than filed one that named a structure. This is a demographic signal, not a quality judgment. Both filings are complete endings.
Korean reviews, which constitute a significant portion of the early player base given the Korean developer, mention that the community board and the wiki phase together produced a sense of emotional escalation. Players who giggled through the board cried at the ending. The difference between Accuse and Connive for those players was not a matter of which felt more just. It was a matter of which felt more honest given what they had read.
What to put in the report
The report accepts fill-in-the-blank answers. Patch 1.0.2 widened the accepted range. Patch 1.1 and 1.2 refined search tags and UI further. Exact terms still pass. Near-synonyms that bounced on 1.0 may now pass on 1.2.
The specific words you type in the blanks determine the filing type. If you name a person in the key blank, that tends toward Accuse. If you use institutional language, that tends toward Connive. The game reads your inputs and triggers the matching achievement.
If you want to see both, play twice. The game is short enough for a second run, and the Search Notebook from the first run accelerates the second.
Which ending is recommended
Neither. This wiki does not recommend an ending. The game presents two valid completions of the case. The choice belongs to the player who spent two hours building the chart.
Read the Endings page for the narrative context. Read the NIRA page for the job you are doing. Read the Seo Hyunju file for who the Connive badge names directly. Then decide what the case is about.
For a second run after seeing one ending, use the 100 Percent Checklist to clean up achievements, then file the other way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for investigators who just hit a dead search.
Is one ending canon?
No. Both Accuse and Connive are valid completions. The game tracks them as separate hidden achievements.
Can I tell which ending I will get before the report screen?
Not explicitly. The game does not preview Accuse versus Connive. The filing type is determined by the exact language you type in the final blanks.
Does the title card differ between filings?
No. The title card is the same. The joke lands the same way for both.
Do I need a complete chart for both endings?
You can file with an incomplete chart. Model NIRA Employee requires a complete chart. Both endings are still accessible without it.
